In The Chain, writers of the Florida Keys speak to grief, acceptance and hope—offering a glimpse into life on the island chain at the intersection of past and present as their home faces an uncertain future amid ongoing ecological decline.
Featuring the poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction of 19 local contributors and 3 winners of the Palmheart Press Kids' Poetry Contest, the collection offers a diverse range of voices and perspectives inspired by the local environment.
Published by Palmheart Press, a Florida Keys-based nonprofit literary press, The Chain: Connection in the Florida Keys was created to foster environmental stewardship through storytelling and community engagement.
Proceeds from the anthology support Florida Bay Forever, helping to protect and preserve one of the region's most vital ecosystems.
